The disbelief of grief

It's funny how it happens.

On a daily basis we realize death is the ultimate in the world of finality.  We can't take it back or change it.  We think we understand that because death is a part of life.

When it happens in our own lives, death feels very different.  It can feel . . . incomplete.  Unsettled.  Interrupted.  It feels anything but final.

I see this at nearly every service I attend.  It doesn't feel real.  It doesn't feel final.  And yet it is.
